Madonna And Elton John’s Feud Continues

Madonna And Elton John’s Feud Continues

It seems that Madonna and Elton John’s long running feud is still heated as Madonna takes another nasty swipe at Elton.

The two stars who are both considered pop royalty, have always struggled to see eye to eye, and it seems the feud between them is growing by the day.

At first it may have seemed that Madonna was lending an olive branch to Elton by performing a song at her recent concert in Nice, France in Elton’s honor stating: “I know he’s a big fan of it and I know he’s a big fan of mine and you know? I forgive him. Gotta start somewhere.” However the song in question was Masterpiece, the hit that helped Madonna beat Elton’s entry to a film soundtrack Golden Globe earlier this year.

When Madonna scooped up the award, Elton and his partner David Furnish were not afraid of expressing their disgust at Madonna winning the award, which obviously has inspired Madonna to carry out the returning insult.

This is not the first time the couple have publicly aired their dislike for each other. Earlier this month in an interview with an Australian journalist, Elton branded Madonna a “fairground stripper” claiming “her career’s over, I can tell you that. Her tour’s been a disaster.”

No doubt adding fuel to the fire, Elton is a close friend of fellow pop star Lady Gaga, who is the godmother of his son Zachery. Madonna is publicly known not to be a huge fan as she feels that Gaga is reusing her famous sound and controversial style.

Madonna not afraid of confrontation took a swipe towards ‘copying’ Gaga by transitioning between her hit Express Yourself and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way during a concert in May. Elton, clearly not impressed by Madonna’s immature antics towards the young star, spoke out to the press reaffirming his dislike for Madonna stating, “She has been so horrible to Gaga.”
