Fashion trends emerge at Fashion Festival Sydney 2012Posted: August 26, 2012
Top Australian fashion houses including Akira, Ginger and Smart and Manning Cartell debuted their Spring/Summer 2012/2013 collections on the runway as presented by Marie Claire for Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Sydney 2012, held at Sydney Town Hall on August 24, 2012 in Sydney, Australia.
Akira presented a selection of red carpet worthy monochrome white gowns, to include bridalwear, as well as printed ensembles with Japanese themes, using paper parasols as props, which added plenty of atmosphere to their fashion show.
True to their name, Ginger and Smart has a color palette in a pickled ginger or salmon pink color, with a little bit of wasabi green on the side, in the way of a mini skirt!
Ginger and Smart presented a fine collection of ginger hued separates – Capri pants, culottes, a boyfriend blazer as well as a short-sleeved mini sheath, teamed with multi-colored tops and shirts as well as a dress in the same multi geometric print.
Manning Cartell also offers the prettiest ginger pink skirt ensembled, designed to include a mock turtleneck, long sleeves and a bare midriff as the cropped top curves upwards, teamed with matching salmon pink mules.
Suboo too incorporates coral or salmon pink in their collection, in particular their turquoise blue, black and salmon pink gown, accessorized with a coral necklace.
Cotton On gets on the pink bandwagon with a gorgeous moto jacket in strawberry pink, which they team with a floral blouse, skinny printed jeans and silver pumps.
Roopa Pemmaraju also brought out some of her best work today, including the stunning cobalt blue gown, a taupe and black gown with swirls and her zigzag patterned geometric dresses with tribal appeal.
Sportscraft also had an amazing presentation today, offering some amazing color combinations to include shades of coral pink/orange as well as black and white ensembles – something for every taste!
Whatever you want to call it – salmon, ginger, coral, peach – many of these collections are featuring that delectable shrimp cocktail pink color and it seems that next Spring/Summer it is going to be all the rage!
Oroton, who showed their collection earlier on, spiced things up a bit with a rich pumpkin orange. Cobalt blue and other Mediterranean hues like turquoise, seafoam green and teal will also be popular…
